How to play

Choose a judge: a grown-up or an older brother or sister. The judge holds the phone or tablet.
The judge shows the hunters the call: a colour, a shape, or a word like soft or bigger than your hand. It’s read aloud too.
Ready, set, go! The hunters race to find something that matches and bring it back.
The judge checks each find. Every match goes in the basket and earns a star.
After the last call, tip out the basket, sort the finds into piles, and count each pile.

Talk about it

Ask “How do you know it’s red?” or “Is it bigger than your hand? Let’s check!”
When sorting, ask which pile has the most, which has the fewest, and how many more.

Safe hunting

Walk, don’t run, and choose the rooms where hunting is allowed before you start.
Nothing sharp, nothing breakable, and nothing small enough to go in a mouth.
Ask before borrowing from someone else’s room, and put everything back at the end.

For mixed ages

Older children make great judges. They can also hunt with a rule of their own, like finding two things.
Pair a little one with a big one, or play All together so everyone fills one basket.
